As a Derbyshire portrait photographer I love that the weather is finally starting to warm up, now is the perfect time for Family Location Photography.
To give me a little refresher, I decided to do some training in children’s outdoor photography, something I’ve not done for a few years. It was good to get back to basics and learn a few new techniques. As they say “you learn something new every day”.
I have been scouting Chesterfield and Derbyshire for different locations that will be perfect for both families and children. Places that will allow the kids to explore and are also beautiful for photos.
My philosophy, when taking family or children’s photos is to alway let the children run and explore. Not only dose this burn off some energy, it allows me to get more natural photos with lots of real smiles and lots of laughter. There is nothing better than hunting for bears or fairies, finding sticks or playing peek a boo from behind a tree.
You can also bring along your dog too, after all they are part of the family too.
We do occasionally stop for a few more structured photos but even then, we go with the flow.
